The objectives
To optimise the use of limited floorspace to maximise production and storage facilities and provide an automated in-line freezing process.
The challenges
All refurbishment and installation work had to be completed at a live production facility causing minimal disruption.
Design coldstore with maximum pallet capacity with constraints of existing low rise structure.

The result

  • 2000 pallet cold store designed and constructed
  • Double drum spiral freezer installed – the largest ever in the UK, able to process 12,000 meals an hour
  • Production areas refurbished
  • New blast freezers and chillers installed
